A Naive Sampler

Product ID: T118

A naive sampler, worked with a house above boats, fish, birds and trees, and an assortment of borders in a pleasingly naive style. A range of stitches are in evidence, including needlepoint and cross-stitch. Believed to have been made at Sunday school by a young girl, as a practice piece, the work is of counted stitch work, on a linen ground of a lovely soft green. This innocent little sampler, mounted on board measures approximately 28cm by 34cm, and would lend an air of unconsidered charm, like children's paintings and drawings, to a country cottage or nursery. alternatively make it up into a pretty cushion for the sofa or bed..
