Pretty 'Spring' Tussy Mussy Posy Pot

Product ID: C144

Although Tussy Mussy pots were traditionally metal vases, this pretty Crown Devon Fieldings pot would make the perfect receptacle for small posy of flowers, rather endearingly named Tussie Mussies by the Victorians. Essentially a simple arrangement of herbs or flowers this rather aptly named (Spring) and soft hued decorative ware pot make it utterly suited for the purpose.

This lovely antique vintage pot, embellished with hand painted spring flowers (camellias/forget-me-nots/anemones) and swagsof ivy, banded with gilt, measures approximately 8.5cm in diameter and 8cm tall. Made by the Crown Devon Fieldings pottery, now sadly long closed, in Stoke on Trent (back stamped to the base together with a gilders number), it is in very good condition to the visible faces; with just the odd tiny nibble to the base, as shown in the pictures, though nothing to detract from its beauty in use. The floral and gilt  decoration are all in very good order.

How apt for savouring the sweetly scented delights of a Spring ‘Tussy Mussy’ of your own.
