The Loveliest Period Pink Rose Bowl Planter/Cache Pot

Product ID: C156

Very pretty cache pot/planter with moulded body, decorated with 'cartouches' of pink roses and fern foliage against a pale cream ground suffused with a very pretty soft pink and lemon yellow blush. Perfect for arrangements of your favourite roses or displayed just as it is as a receptacle for pretty soaps and all manner of other things from pot pourri to potted plants.

A lovely large size, lavishly adorned and in excellent condition aside from some crazing and discolouration to the inside (as would be expected from use). Measuring 8in (20cm)across and 6.25in (16cm) high. Clearly of some age; c.1920/30's, in the Victorian manner or earlier. Makers name partially illegible; though 'pottery, England' still remain legible.

The moulded body is very prettily embossed with flower and leaf shapes, creating the effect of  four 'windows' or cartouches, each decorated with a rose vignette. Two of the four faces depict a large rose vignette of five pink roses with fern leaves and, the other two a diminutive single rose and bud.  A pretty fluted rim finished with a gilded edge completes this lovely cache pot.

Perfect for displaying a posy of  roses from your rose garden, in the manner of endearingly named Victorian Tussy Mussies (informal posies of garden herbs and flowers) or a potted house plant.

Simply Gorgeous.
