Vintage Lakeland Pencil Box

Product ID: H161

The owner of this gorgeous time worn Lakeland pencil box, obviously hailed from the same camp as wife of the Governor of the Bank of England, Mrs Mark Carney, and cherished it for many many years! Feel suitably virtuous and eco-friendly, as you won't want to part with this lovely pencil box after just a year. But as the previous owners pencils are worn to the tips, you may want to treat yourself to some new ones.

Made in England (very patriotic), by the Cumberland Pencil Co.Ltd in Keswick, this "Lakeland" tin depicts a tranquil scene of Keswick-on-DerwentWater in lovely soft shades of blues and greens. Orginally containing an assortment of six different colour Cumberland pencils, "for school and general office use", fill it with whatever you wish.

Measures approximately 7.25ins. by 2ins.As would be expected from a much loved and used tin it is tarnished and worn, though the lid is still quite vibrant and it is tight closing.

All that is required are a bouquet of sharpened pencils to welcome in that lovely back-to-school/autumn feeling.
