Impressive Large Mid Century/1960s Era Original E. Mandon Marine Seascape Print

Product ID: A179

Large original Mid Century/1960s era vintage marine/seascape print by the artist Edouard Mandon. Mandon was a french painter, whose realist seascapes brought him renown in the twentieth century.

This lovely seascape has a very appealingly mix of movement, light and serenity, which is generously captured in its liberally ample size. Measuring approximately 84cm x 50cm (34inches x 22 inches) in its original painted timber frame, it abundantly conveys the sweeping power and immense breadth of the sea.

Lyrically entitled 'The Song of the Sea', the picture has a pleasingly engaging effect on the viewer, drawing one into the scene and evoking the sound and spray of the rolling waves. The play of light on the sea further adds to its allure.  The colours are soft and muted, a mix of greys and ochres, making it perfect for a wide range of locations; wherever you choose to hang it, from a bedroom to a sitting room or...

In good vintage condition, with a general smattering of what appear to be feint age related marks. These do not seem to detract from the picture when seen as intended from a little distance. The original sixties Boots framers label is still attached to the back, complete with the artist's name and the picture title. It comes ready to hang, complete with cord.

The artist's signature is to be found in the bottom right corner.

An original vintage retro piece for the modern vintage interior.
