Child's Rattan Chair in Original Paint

Product ID: H116

This lovely chair is a rare find, as apparently few were made, or have survived. It is the first we have ever come across. In the instantly recognisable shape and materials of the period, it is a lovely soft shade of green. The original inspiration for later woven twisted paper furniture, it is a beautiful example of classic and enduring design.

In marvellous condition for its age, with signs of wear where little arms, legs and back have touched and rubbed away the colour over time, this gorgeous little chair will add country charm, as well as providing occasional overflow seating. Use it as a moving display for favourite books, cushions and pictures, or simply as an item of beauty in its own right.

Size & Condition:

The chair measures approximately 23.5” in height to the top of the back, seat height 12”, 13” wide across the seat and 13” deep. It has a robust hard wood beech frame and woven rattan body. It is in great vinateg condition with a lovely unique patina acquired through age and use.

A much loved childhood favourite and family heirloom. Give it to a special young child, if you can bear to, or keep it for yourself!
